Me Want.

Lest anyone should doubt my American consumerist upbringing, I felt it was important to point out the following, droolworthy purchases available in your neighborhood Amazon rainforest.

Needless to say, should anybody buy any of the following for me, my pre-programmed consumerist nature to derive happiness from purchased goods shall kick in and I will be greatly elated (at least until I find something else I want):

The Complete West Wing DVD Set

So I already own 2 of the seasons on DVD. I still need 5 more! Plus, this has nifty packaging, the pilot script, and the special pricing makes the cost per disc round out to about $4.50! (I can do the math. Don’t think I can’t. Well, actually, I can’t. I borrowed that figure from somebody else.)

The Complete MASH Series on DVD

Just imagine how very little I could get done with these. All 11 seasons of MASH, for instance – my parents already have about 7 of the seasons on DVD, so of course it would be wrong to not have all of them. There’s still another 5 seasons to waste time with.

Fawlty Towers DVD Set

Let’s not forget that any proper, self-respecting consumer-driven home simply is incomplete without the complete set of Fawlty Towers on DVD. What would life be like without Basil and the rest of the Fawlty Towers hotel staff? Ghastly, I’m sure.

And then, for something completely different (only not really, since it also stars John Cleese), one would absolutely need The Complete Monty Python’s Flying Circus 16-ton Megaset:

Monty Python's Flying Circus DVD Set

It’d be disastrous to go without it. Plus, you clearly wouldn’t expect the Spanish Inquisition without watching it.

There you have it, folks… American consumerism at its finest. Man, this poor excuse for a blog entry has sunk below even my own poor standards. Okay, please don’t pay attention to any of this. It’s a waste of electrons. Sigh. I need to go do something constructive. Something real. Something important. Maybe I should calculate the exact number of minutes I’d waste in life by watching all of aforementioned purchases.
